SICKLE FEVER1

Sheikh reached home and rested. He thought that he would bring the sickle from the well before his mother came.

So in the evening, he walked out of his house to get the sickle from the well.

On the way he passed Lallan's house. He heard someone groaning with pain.

He looked around and realized that the sound was coming from within the house.

Sheikh quickly ran inside the house and saw that Lallan's grandmother was lying on a cot. When he touched her, he realized that she had fever.

"Don't worry, Granny. I know the cure for fever," said Sheikh. He picked her up and took her outside.

"Where are you taking Granny?" asked another friend.

Sheikh said, "She has fever, I am taking her to cure her."

Sheikh walked away with Granny and after some time Lallan and his father returned to their house.

They had gone to get medicine for Granny, and now when they reached their house, they found that Granny was missing.

They began searching everywhere for her. The friend told Lallan that he had seen Sheikh carry Granny away to cure her of the fever.

Lallan at once understood where Sheikh would have taken his Granny. He ran towards the well.

He reached a sigh of relief when he saw Granny with Sheikh near the well. He was glad to find his granny. Sheikh had united the sickle and was tying Granny to the rope.

"What are you doing?" Shouter Lallan,  "Oh Lallan! It is good that you have come because your Granny is very heavy," said Sheikh.

"What are you doing?" Screamed Lallan's father.

"This is the best cure for fever, Uncle, My sickle got cured as Lallan had said. I have tied Granny with this rope. We will put her in the well," said Sheikh.

"Did Lallan tell you about this cure?" asked Lallan's father.

Sheikh replied, "Yes Uncle and my sickle has been cured of its fever."

Lallan's father said, "And now I will cure Lallan's fever." The father started beating Lallan who started crying.

Then his father ordered him. "Now help me pick up Granny. She would have died had we not come in time."

The weeping Lallan and his father picked up Granny and went home.

Sheikh picked up his sickle but he was very confused.

He thought, "Why didn't they put Granny into the well?"

Why did Lallan's father beat Lallan though he had cured the sickle? Why did Lallan father say that Granny could have died? When the water of the well can cure the fever of the sickle then it could surely relieve Granny's fever too! People are so strange and so stupid."
