At night,
while almost all the babies were comfortably settled, a few babies were still
crying.
Even Prince
Hatimtai had not taken milk. Everyone including the queen tried to feed him,
but he did not drink a single drop of milk.
This made
the king and the queen very worried.
The anxious
queen started crying. She was afraid that something wrong might happen to the
baby, as he was not drinking milk.
Someone
advised the king, "My Lord, there is a wise holy man who can help us with
this problem."
The holy
man was respectfully invited to the palace. When he came, the king welcomed
him.
The king
then asked the holy man, "Why is my son not having milk? Is everything
fine with him? I am very worried about him."
The holy
man said, "Don't worry, my son. This just shows that your prince is very
kind."
The king
did not understand anything. He gave the holy man a confused look.
The holy
man asked, "Are there more babies in your palace?"
The king
said, "Yes, there are six thousand male babies in the palace."
The holy
man said, "Your kind son will have milk only when all the other children
have been given their feed."
The king
immediately shouted, "Go and check if the other boys have had milk."
One servant
said, "Some babies have not yet been fed, My Lord."
The king
ordered the nurses to feed the babies at once.
When all
the babies had been fed, baby Hatim began to drink milk.
All the
people were surprised to see the sensitivity of the baby Hatim. Even as a
child, he could feel the pain and discomfort of others.
The people
of Yemen praised Prince Hatim for his kind nature.
The
holy man blessed Hatim and told the king that he would grow up to be a very
kind person.
