Akbar
thought, "Birbal always gets the better of me. Today, I will scare
him." Akbar thought of different plans to scare Birbal. Then he made up
his mind to disguise himself like a devil.
He wore a
devilish mask with long and sharp teeth and a horrifying face. The head had
horns and was black in color. It was quite frightening. Akbar knocked at the
door of Birbal's house. The servant, who opened te door fell down with fright.
Another
servant standing behind ran to Birbal shouting, "A devil! Help us
master!"
Birbal ran
to see what had happened. He came to the front door and saw the servant lying
on th floor. The door was open and no one was there.
As Birbal
stepped out to look who was outside, the disguised Akbar suddenly appeared
right in front of Birbal.
Akbar
thought that looking at his disguise, Birbal would get scared.
Birbal
looked at the face of the devil and then he looked down. The clothes were also
like that of a devil.
Birbal
looked at the devil's shoes and smiled mysteriously, much to Akbar's surprise.
Birbal was
clever and knew that the devil was not real. Akbar was unhappy to see Birbal
smiling.
Birbal went
inside and asked Birbal, "How did you know that it is me and not a
devil?"
Birbal
replied, "Your shoes, Your Majesty. They gave you away. But I am worried
about one thing?"
Akbar
asked, "What is the matter Birbal? You found out the truth, then why Are
you worried?"
Birbal
said, "MY Lord, I was wondering whom were you so afraid of in my house
that you had to come wearing a disguise?"
Akbar was
very sad that he had failed to fool or scare Birbal. On top of that, Birbal was
thinking that Akbar was scared of someone in his house.
Akbar
realized that no one could fool Birbal. He was too clever for everyone.
