Overcoming Anger

The wise do not look for happiness in them. But those who overcome the impulses of lust and anger which arise in the body are made whole and live in joy. They find their joy, their rest, and their light completely within themselves.               Gita 5.22-24

We should keep strict vigil on the already controlled senses so that they do not get an opportunity to raise their ugly heads. Pure diet is of great help in this regard, in controlling sensual desires and anger.                        Atherva Veda

Anger and hatred cannot bring harmony. The noble task of arms control and disarmament cannot be accomplished by confrontation and condemnation. Hostile attitudes only serve to heat up the situation, whereas a true sense of respect gradually cools down what otherwise could become explosive.                The XIV Dalai lama

Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind.             Patanjali

Yoga leads from ignorance to wisdom, from weakness to strength, from disharmony to harmony, from hatred to love..... from diversity to unity and from imperfection to perfection.             Swami Shivananada

Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being form bodily health to self realization. Yoga means union -the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul.                    BKS Iyengar
