How To Attain Lasting Peace?

Utmost Religious Act
Several kinds of Punya-Parmartha (noble deeds, virtuous and religious activities) are there. For example, helping others, offering welfare service, etc, are counted among these. Doing so bestows inner peace, content and benevolence and also enhances the glory of the doer. But greatest all such good actions is "self-development" - refinement of the self by self-discipline and determination; eradicating the instincts of jealously, anger, un-consumable, passions, selfish ambitions, cravings fears and tensions etc by discerning wisdom and enlightenment. This is the greatest of the religious acts, which are rewarded by good omen and divine boons.
Eliminating the smog of ignorance and lighting the lamp of awareness, purity and prudence in the shrine of mind and heart is indeed the true worship, true devotion of God. Uprooting the mental slavery, inferiority, and vices and cultivating confidence, fearlessness, integrity, purity, assiduity and blissfulness is greater than donating millions of tons of gold in charity. Improvement of the self is the utmost service of the society. Sincere endeavors of physical, mental, intellectual, moral and spiritual elevation of our own selves and living like an awakened and duty-bond citizen are the superior to all ethics and ideologies.
The heavenly paradise would be naturally erected on this earth if every man and woman was devoted to this religion of "self-awakening" and enlightened ascent. Then the gods of heavens would like to come and stay in this world.

How To Attain Lasting Peace?
The moment we begin experiencing our unity or our linkage with God, a divine spring of peace begins to flow in our heart. This requires purity of heart and mind. Our thoughts should be clear, rezoned and illumined by spirituality if we want blissful peace in life. Remembering that "I (the individual self) am a part of god" - is the seed of this elixir.
It is a pity that everyone is thirsty for peace; many spend whole life in its search - even roaming around the world, trying out different ways ….., but remain deprived of inner peace. No one can ever find peace in worldly things or by worldly means. Materialistic joy is momentary and so is the feeling of peace in specific circumstances of life. Those searching for it outwardly are like the innocent dear, who, unaware of the musk hidden in its own naval runs frantically behind the fragrance spread outside.

Absolute and lasting peace is lying in our own inner selves. Restraining the agility of mind and controlling over the senses, enlightening the intellect and purifying the heart are essential prerequisites of the spiritual endeavors of realizing it.
